POLISH SUMMER is a photographic analysis of current social processes and conditions against the background of Poland's founding 100 years ago. The author is the photographer Tomasz Lewandowski, who was born and raised in Poland, but has been living in Germany for some time, where he studied photography at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Arts in Halle (Saale). For the series "Polish Summer" Tomasz Lewandowski travelled all over Poland. His photographs, accompanied by short texts, show scenes from everyday life on the one hand, and politically and historically relevant places and objects in contemporary Poland on the other. Because he is at home both in Poland and in Germany, Tomasz Lewandowski looks at his homeland from his very own perspective. He sees his homeland through the eyes of both a stranger and a native. A catalogue will be published to accompany the exhibition.

Accompanying to the presentation of the photographs on 30.11.2018 at 19:30 in the Galerie Raskolnikow a Photographic Salon with panel discussion will take place in cooperation with the Sächsischen Landeszentrale für politische Bildung.
